Buongiorno tutti!

This is a really fun recipe and maybe something you haven’t tried before, but there’s nothing quite like fresh pesto sauce!  This can sound like a daunting task if you’ve never tried it, but there’s not actually too much involved in making your own pesto sauce the good old fashioned way, and it really pays off! There are so many things you can do with pesto, and it’s of course always a favorite over pasta.  Let’s get cooking!

What you’ll need:

Step 1: Clean your basil leaves and remove all stems.  Combine your basil, pine nuts, and garlic cloves in a food processor (or a powerful blender if you have one) and process until everything is minced.

Step 2: With your blender/ food processor on a low speed, slowly pour in your olive oil. (You may need to add and mix oil in small batches depending on your machine). Process until your sauce is smooth.

Step 3: Add your grated parmesan cheese and blend.  Do not over-blend, just mix on a low speed until all ingredients are combined.

Your sauce can be stored in the refridgerator and enjoyed immediately! :)
