If your family is anything like ours, you can count on some amazing cold cuts and cheeses to be around during any holiday or family gathering. It's one of our all time favorite appetizers, so today we're bringing you a list of all the steps to follow to make sure your board is a crowd pleaser.

Step 1: Choose your surface. We like using a wooden piece best, and wooden cutting boards are perfect for charcuterie. You can also use marble or ceramic platters or cutting boards.

Step 2: Select your meats and cheeses! This is the fun part. For meats, we love spressata, salami, prosciutto, and mortadella (to start!) For cheeses, we use a mix of hard and soft cheeses including brie, gouda, mozzarella, provolone, blue cheese, and cheddar. There's definitely no right and wrong with these selections, we just like to make sure that we have a little bit of everything (spicy, sweet, hard, soft) for everyone's tastes.

Step 3: Add some antipasti. Sprinkling olives, artichoke hearts and stuffed cherry peppers thoughout your board adds a variety of flavors and some nice color to your platter.

Step 4: Toss in some spreads, chutneys, crackers, and bread. We love tapenades and a wide array of crackers. We also don't go anywhere without some good, crusty bread. ;)

Step 5:  Fresh fruit and nuts are always welcome. Grapes, dried apricots, almonds and pignoli look beautiful and add color to your board.

Step 6: Add a couple sprigs of rosemary for color!

Step 7: Arrange all the components of your board artfully and make sure it's balanced!
