Holiday season is in full swing! For all the family gatherings you will be attending and hosting this season, we wanted to give you a nice side dish to prepare. We came up with this stuffed mushrooms recipe (done Italian style, of course), so let's get cookin'!
What you'll need:
- 12 large portabella mushrooms
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper (color of your choosing)
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 minced clove of garlic
- 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, combine your bell pepper, garlic, onion, ground beef, oregano, and salt and black pepper.
Step 3: Prepare your mushrooms, Remove any stems and fill mushrooms with mixture from step 1.
Step 4: Pour your Capa di Roma sauce into a large (9 x 13) casserole dish. Place mushrooms (stuffed side up) into sauce, without overlapping one another. Cover dish with aluminum foil.
Step 5: Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Then, remove aluminum foil, sprinkle with your parmesan cheese, and bake for another 20 minutes.
